Sectors

Modular construction can provide permanent, highly insulated space across a wide range of sectors. The right approach depends on the site, intended use, budget, approvals and programme, so every enquiry starts with understanding what the building actually needs to do.

01

Extensions, home offices and additional living space

Modular construction can provide a modern alternative to a traditional extension or conservatory. Whether you need a larger lounge, dining area, home office, garden room, playroom, annexe or other additional living space, the building can be designed around the property and the way you intend to use it.

A high proportion of the work can be completed off site, helping to reduce the length of time trades are working around your home. Buildings can be fully insulated for comfortable year-round use, with electrical, plumbing, heating and internal finishes included within a turnkey package where required.

02

Education

Schools and education providers often need additional space within defined funding and term-time programmes while keeping the existing site operational.

Modular construction can be considered for classrooms, teaching blocks, offices, SEN and support spaces, staff facilities and specialist accommodation. Planning can take account of safeguarding, access, utilities, holiday periods and the need to minimise disruption to pupils and staff.

03

Commercial and public sector

Offices, meeting spaces, community buildings and customer-facing facilities need to work properly from day one.

MITCORP can develop the building, site preparation and fit-out as one coordinated project, considering appearance, services, access, programme and whole-project cost rather than treating the modular unit in isolation.

04

Healthcare and care

Healthcare and care environments can benefit from off-site manufacture where disruption, programme control and quality are important.

MITCORP can help develop modular options for consultation rooms, support spaces, staff accommodation and other suitable facilities, working with the required designers, specialists and compliance requirements for the project.

05

Construction

Site offices, welfare facilities, meeting rooms and operational accommodation often need to be delivered quickly and continue performing throughout a live project.

MITCORP can coordinate the building, foundations, delivery, installation and services around changing site logistics and programme requirements.

06

Industrial

Workshops, storage, offices and operational buildings need practical layouts, durable finishes and services designed around day-to-day use.

A modular or panelised approach can provide a controlled route to creating additional space while limiting disruption to the wider site, subject to the building use and technical requirements.

07

Specialist and constrained-site projects

Some briefs do not fit a standard category. Restricted access, unusual building uses, difficult programmes or sensitive operating environments may make a modular solution particularly attractive.

MITCORP will assess the practical and commercial position first. If modular is suitable, we will explain the route. If another form of construction makes more sense, we will say so.

What can be included?

Depending on the project, MITCORP can coordinate a complete turnkey package including design, approvals, steel or timber framing, SIPs, screw-pile foundations, manufacture, delivery, installation, electrical work, plumbing, heating, internal finishes and final handover.
